Our whole school community is bursting with pride having been recognised by the council for our pupils' fabulous results. We are in the Top 5 schools in the borough for numbers of Key Stage 2 pupils meeting expected standards in reading, writing and maths. We are also in the Top 6 schools for the number of our disadvantaged pupils meeting expected standards and (wait for it!) we have been recommended for a special award for the number of our disadvantaged pupils who make above average progress! Thank you to everyone for your hard work.
A quick reminder that next Monday (11th June) is photo day for all pupils. We can't wait to see everyone looking smart with their best smiles at the ready!
Thank you to everyone who took part in our annual WE Walk for Water event last month. We've now had our official fundraising total from event organisers WE Movement. Together we raised a staggering £2,029 to provide clean water to those who need it most!

Friday 27th April is our school-wide WE Walk for Water event where we fundraise to provide access to clean water for those who need it most. Once they are back in school, the children will be learning about the importance of clean water and the factors that stand in the way of some people in the world from getting it. All our lessons will be linked to our UNICEF Rights Respecting work. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@ChestertonSch) for lots of updates.
We're delighted to let you know that our first ever Chesterton Handbook for Parents and Carers is now ready to use! You can find it at this link (and on the grey strip on every page in the Parents section of our website). In the Handbook you'll find information about homework, uniform, answers to the most frequently asked questions that we get in the school office and much more.
We place huge importance on children being fluent in their Basic Skills in English and Maths by the time they leave us in Year 6. This means making sure they develop and practise specific skills in each Year. We have put together some great resources for parents to support your child's learning of Basic Skills at home. Please click on this link to find them.
