Happy New Year to all pupils, parents and families! We're having a very productive INSET Day today, and look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 4 January ready for another fantastic term.
We're delighted to announce that the combined fundraising total of this week's school discos and the Festive Fair is a whopping £1,070.35. Every penny of this will be spent on new books for the school library! Thank you so much to all pupils, parents and staff who baked, boogied, crafted and spent their money to help us raise this amazing amount.
Parents and carers! Don't forget the family Festive Fair after school today (Wednesday 14 December) in the KS1 and KS2 halls. Every pound you spend will go towards buying new books for the school library. We've got lots of lovely food on offer, plus an amazing selection of homemade hampers to win in our tombola. If you're still searching for the ideal gift, look no further!
Monday night (12th December) is disco night when all children are invited to return to school for a festive knees-up like no other! Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are invited to return to school from 3.45pm to 4.45pm to bust some serious moves. Children in Years 3 to 6 can then take to the floor from 5pm to 6pm. So children, time to get out the sparkles, dust off those dancing shoes and let your friends watch you whip (and then watch you nae nae!)
Parents! If you would like help filling in your online application form for a Reception place in September 2017, we are running a drop in at the school on the morning of Tuesday 29th November. Please pop into the school office for help from Mr Kheir or Miss Thurston. We look forward to seeing you then.
Parents and carers - you should now have received proofs of your child's school photo along with ordering details. Please follow the instructions that the photographer has provided, and remember that all photos must be ordered directly from him. Unfortunately we cannot take orders at the school office.
Our school photographer will be in on Monday (14 November) to take individual photos of all children. Parents - please remember that if you would like sibling photos you need to let the school office know in advance, as these won't be taken automatically.
Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone looking smart and ready for their close-ups on Monday morning!
Wishing all pupils, their families and all our friends and neighbours a great, and safe November 5th weekend. Parents - if you haven't received it by email, please take a look at the weekly newsletter here and please make sure that the school office has your up to date details so that the newsletter and other important information about your child can be delivered direct to your inbox.
Happy Halloween and welcome back to school. We hope you all had a great break and are looking forward to another busy and productive half-term. Just a reminder that if you would like to book breakfast club or after school care for your child or children for this half-term you need to please fill out the booking form here. Full details of how to pay and how to book are on this web page.
This Monday (31st October) is the deadline for Wandsworth Council to have received your admissions form for Year 7 places in September 2017. You can fill out the form online by clicking here or get a paper copy from either the council or the school office. If you need help with the form, our Learning Mentor Miss Thurston is in school today (Friday) to help. Make sure you get your form in on time!
We wish all pupils, their families and Chesterton staff a great half-term. We'll see you on Monday 31 October! Remember the application deadline for secondary school admissions is also Monday 31 October. Miss Thurston will be in school during the holidays on Wednesday 26 October and Friday 28 October for any parents who need help with forms.
Throughout the week from Monday 17th to Friday 21st we're running a Scholastic book fair in the Key Stage 1 hall. Parents and carers are warmly invited to come along, browse and buy from a great range of fiction and non-fiction books between 3.15pm and 4pm.
Scholastic will give the school a percentage of all sales, which we'll use to replenish book corners for every class. By supporting the book fair not only will your child get a new book, they'll also benefit from new books to read in school. We'll also have a lovely range of stationery on offer.
We look forward to seeing you there.
All Chesterton staff are now listed on the website with their job role and their photo (last few photos to come in the next week or so). Please take a look at all the staff involved in making sure the school runs as smoothly and successfully as possible.
Thank you to all the Reception parents for joining us on the second session of our phonics workshop this morning, focusing on blending and segmenting of phonetically plausible words. We look forward to seeing you all again next Wednesday (19 October) at 9am for our final workshop of three on tackling tricky words!
Apologies to all parents for the confusion, school photos are actually Friday 11 November, not 11 October. We got so excited about seeing all the pupils looking super-smart, that we brought it forward a month by accident! If you have any questions about school uniform requirements they're hopefully all answered here, if not please ask at the school office.
