At Chesterton on 14th April 2015, but I have been a Governor at other Wandsworth schools since my son left Junior School in 2001.

Professional experience and interests:
Management Accountant and Finance Director of several small companies. I also worked with Wandsworth Education in many capacities from school governor and member of an Interim Executive Board and also chairing appeals for school admissions and exclusions. I love jazz, my husband publishes a jazz magazine and also still plays regularly with his band. I also really enjoy other types of music and enjoy travelling, good food and wine and down time with my friends and family.

Why have you chosen to become a Governor and what would you like to achieve in this post?
I am passionate about education – it is every child’s right to have the best education that can be provided. It gives children the very best start in life and provides an opening into the wide variety of what the world can offer. It is a joy to watch a child when something clicks into place and they get it. Education enriches our lives in so many ways. At Chesterton I hope to help what is already an outstanding school to become even better.

How do you support Chesterton Primary School as a Governor?
I have now been Chair at Chesterton for over 2 years. Being Chair brings me into many varied and interesting situations which involve planning, research and organising. Having been a governor and an Accountant for many years I use my experience to train and support other governors and to bring focus to the board.

Please describe Chesterton Primary School in one word:
Inspiring.
